The GBRC provides numerous international resources to students, faculty, alumni, and regional businesses, and entrepreneurs. These resources include international business magazines, journals, books, multimedia, market research reports, documents and articles relating to international business and culture. The GBRC also maintains a database in which all of past projects and market research studies are located with the intent to be available for online reference. In addition, the GBRC has access to many sources of data in regards to international business information and currently subscribes to the following resources for international education, research and international business/marketing information: Wisertrade.org; Economist.com; ExportHotline.com; Global Edge portal; International Monetary Fund - Balance of Payment Statistics (CD-Rom); Trade compass; Stat-USA; USA Trade (CD-Rom); USITC; and VIBA (Michigan State University).
The GBRC specializes in providing international market entry strategies for businesses. Services include data gathering, business analysis, market identification, feasibility studies, and market intelligence. Several combinations of methodologies including primary data collection, interviews, vendor and partner search, focus groups are employed to provide a comprehensive report for decision-makers.
In 2009 the center has received grant funding to offer the Certified Global Business Professional training as well as develop an International Business Certificate program. These programs are offered to students, faculty and business clients interested in developing skills to participate in the global economy.
Over the last decade the GBRC has emerged as a resource for businesses, faculty and students. The center has resources in forms of printed materials, databases, international partners that work together to provide value-added services for different stakeholders. The current focus of the center is centered on emerging markets in Asia and South and Central America. GBRC is also expanding its partnerships and presence in various countries.
